Bowl Painting for Tarrant Area Food Bank

For National Day of Giving or Giving Tuesday, help us support the Tarrant Area Food Bank by painting a bowl for their Empty Bowls event in April.
Join us on Tuesday December 2, 2025, between 3pm and 8pm to hand paint a bowl for this wonderful cause. Spots are limited! Only 20 bowls available — Purchase a bowl for $10 to participate. We provide the paint, glaze, kiln firing and will deliver your bowl to the Food Bank when it is done.
Empty Bowls is the Tarrant Area Food Bank's annual fundraising event that features local restaurants, artists, and community members to raise money for programs that fight hunger. Attendees purchase a hand-crafted bowl (just like the one you will paint) symbolizing the empty bowls they plan to fill. This year’s event will benefit TAFB’s Ready to Learn program, dedicated to serving children in need by establishing in-school food markets and providing educational programs.

TAFB serves 13 counties in North Texas: Tarrant, Bosque, Cooke, Denton, Erath, Hamilton, Hill, Hood, Johnson, Palo Pinto, Parker, Somervell and Wise.

Join us for a 6 week pottery journey, where you'll discover the art of hand-building in a fun, relaxed and positive environment. Whether you’re a beginning or more experienced artist we’ve created a space to inspire you, switch off from the stresses of the outside world and channel your creativity. Class sizes are small so the we can offer individual attention. All materials are provided.
Class Details:
In this 6 week class you will create four unique pieces and learn various techniques, including:
- Hand-rolling slabs of clay
- Applying texture and embellishments
- Creating coil handles
- Using slump and hump molds
- Glazing your work
- Developing your unique style and artistic voice

No previous clay experience is required to attend this workshop. The workshop was designed with the beginner in mind.
We will show you step-by-step how to make a mug and decorate it with underglaze transfers. No detailed painting required. Our staff will fire your piece in the kiln, dip it in clear glaze, and fire it again. The mugs will be ready for pick up before Halloween. All materials are provided.

The clay pieces will be precut for you, as you learn how to mold, shape and attach them together under guided instruction to create an angel that can hang on the wall. This project will take two class sessions to complete. Come back on October 30th to glaze the angel. Our staff will fire your angel in the kiln. The angel will be ready for pick up in early December. All materials are provided.

No previous clay experience required! Make a cute little table top Christmas tree that is approximately 8" tall. Several different styles to choose from. You will cut small holes in the tree so that it can become a tea light centerpiece. This will require two class periods to complete. On November 11th you will come back to glaze and paint the tree. Our staff will dip your piece in clear glaze, and fire it in the kiln. The Christmas tree will be ready for pick up before Christmas.
